Appearance[]
Haruka's Character Art Design
Haruka is a tall and fair-skinned girl with shoulder length auburn-brown hair that has a portion of her hair pulled back by a large light pink bow with pink ombre at the tips, pink-brown eyes and a developed bust (D-cup breast size, although Yū Sonoda thinks Haruka is "just" a C-cup).
She wears the standard uniform: a red tie, a plain white (collared) button-up shirt, a blue and green plaid skirt and a green coat that she usually leaves unbuttoned. To go along with this, she wears black knee-socks and white sneakers with a red x on the sides.
Personality[]
Haruka has been Yū Sonoda's closest friend/girlfriend since middle school where she gets jealous when she sees her getting along with other girls in the class. Haruka is, in Yuu's own words, the "extremely jealous type". She also finds amusement in teasing Yuu, who in return gets flustered or mildly annoyed.
Haruka is usually the one initiating the kisses that she and Yuu share throughout the series. Even though she is forward with her feelings, she gets extremely embarrassed or shy when Yuu does or says things that she believes to be cute or affectionate. Haruka is the opposite of Yuu, being the more calm and tender individual. She is usually less concerned about her surroundings than Yuu is and is likely to be impulsive, However, she is more insecure about how she would get along with other people. Yuu provides emotional and verbal support for her shy nature.
She is often caught up in a fantasy and sees her friends with "shipping goggles", but when it comes to it she doesn't initially didn't realize there was a difference between being a couple and being friends.
Background[]
Haruka is an only child who was always alone in middle school until she met Yū Sonoda. Through meeting Yū she was able to make more friends.
Since then, their relationship has progressed to close friends, potential lovers and eventually, girlfriends.

Yū Sonoda[]
Yuu is Haruka's best friend and eventual girlfriend. As it was Yuu who helped her open up to others, she considers her someone very special in her life where her mind is often focused on Yuu and nothing else.
Mitsuki Sonoda[]
Haruka didn't realize Mitsuki had feelings for her. She thinks Mitsuki's was upset in her behavior because she took away her little sister Yū. Mitsuki gave up her feelings for Haruka and wished them all the best in the future.

- The name Haruka means "spring" (春) (haru) and "fragrance, fragrant" (香) (ka).
- Haruka's surname Takayama means "tall, high" (高) (taka) and "mountain, hill" (山) (yama).
