Appearance[]
Yū's Character Art Design
Yū is short with an average frame. She is fair skinned, has bright green eyes and medium length strawberry blonde hair. She normally wears her hair up in partially split pigtails with white flower hair ties.
She wears the standard uniform: a white buttoned shirt with a red tie, blue and green plaid skirt, and an un-buttoned green coat. Suitable for this, she wears white knee socks and white sneakers with a red ''x'' on the sides.
Personality[]
Yū is a cheery girl with a happy-go-lucky, energetic and childish attitude, which quickly endears her to everyone around. Whenever she's in a foul mood, she can be difficult to communicate with, but she is overall shown to be innocent and sweet.
She often has no idea about the subject if the topic doesn't involve sports of some kind. She prefers running around outside than sitting still. Yuu has a tendency to fall asleep -namely in class or during study- whenever she gets bored. She can't remember much and struggles focusing, to the point of having to come up with some outlandish ideas to try to remember whatever she's learning. Despite this she does possess some common sense and is capable of picking up on things Haruka Takayama and Mitsuki Sonoda miss. Compared to Haruka, she is more reluctant to openly show her affection and needs convincing often, but she enjoys all the kisses with Haruka. With the progressing of the series and their relationship developing, she started to initiate kisses more often.

Haruka Takayama[]
Haruka is Yū's best friend and her girlfriend as of chapter 75 of the manga, although she didn't realize how much she loved her at the beginning. She is a little bit envious of her bigger chest and gets jealous if Haruka doesn't give her enough attention. She and Haruka both seem capable of manipulating each other with food.
Mitsuki Sonoda[]
Mitsuki is Yū's older sister who are the complete opposites of each other and because of the bond they desire to have with Haruka Takayama, they were initially rivals. Mitsuki eventually relents and begins supporting them.

Etymology[]
- The name Yū means "excellence, superiority, gentleness" (優).
- Yū's surname Sonoda means "garden, park, plantation" (園) (sono) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta/da).
Trivia[]
- Just like her older sister Mitsuki Sonoda, Yū loves green tea flavored matcha.
- She also likes the hedgehog keychain, which is very popular.
- Yū's symbol is her flower hair band. When Mitsuki is around, the band has the kanji "妹", which means younger sister on it to distinguish itself from her sister's.
